BRAND NEW PODCAST EPISODE

The Kind of Leadership That Changes the World
with Bushra Razack

When I first heard Bushra Razack speak on a panel in South Africa about women’s resilience, I knew immediately: this woman’s voice needs to be amplified.

Bushra is a South African-born community development leader and the powerhouse CEO of Philippi Village — a vibrant business and community hub built on the remains of an abandoned cement factory, deep in the townships of Cape Town.

But this isn’t a story about ticking boxes or planting trees in poverty. It’s a story about listening. About trust. About redesigning systems that were never built to serve Black or Brown communities — and doing it all in a way that honours complexity, creativity, and dignity.

Bushra shares how she stepped into a leadership role by listening deeply to those most impacted. How a wall meant to “create safety” became a doorway to unexpected truths. How her own experience of being shot at on the school run — with her child in the car (we kid you not!) — shaped her vision of what true safety and community care can look like.

This conversation is about real systems change. It’s about building not from ego, but from exchange. Bushra shows us what’s possible when we drop the need to have all the answers and begin instead with a simple, radical act: asking what people need.

If you’ve ever wondered how to lead in a way that’s truly transformational — you’ll love with this episode.

After listening, let us know what you felt in the comments and please reshare to help amplify the voices of women the world needs to hear.

Big love
